What is the best way to get my bike to the ride?
Most riders drive to Colorado and trailer their bikes. Or you could ride it there. We start and end the ride in southern Colorado to make it convenient for the folks coming up from Texas and points south. That way everyone can stay clear of Denver traffic on I-25. If you want to fly in for the ride you can rent a bike for the trip or have yours shipped ahead. We can provide information and help with both of those options. Contact us via email for more info.
What about my luggage?
Our support van follows the tour and it tows an enclosed trailer. Bring one suitcase or a reasonably sized duffel and it will be in the van while you ride just in case you need something, and it will be at the lodging in the evening when we arrive. Riders are encouraged to handle some personal luggage on their bikes.
What if I don’t feel like riding with the group?
You don’t have to. The tours are very flexible; you can ride on your own, at your own pace and still take advantage of our expert planning and all the amenities. You will have daily route maps and can meet up with the group whenever you choose.
How much riding experience should I have?
Some of the roads can be challenging. If you have a motorcycle rider-training course and some open road riding experience under your belt you should have a great time. This is no place to learn the fundamentals, but if you are comfortable and confident on your machine, you should be fine.
What kind of clothes should I bring?
Colorado summer weather can be a real rollercoaster. The days can run between 70 and 90 degrees and the nights 30 to 50 degrees. So bring one of everything! Be sure to pack your rain gear—quick summer showers are common in the mountains. And don’t forget your shades and sunscreen—the sun is pretty serious at these altitudes.
What if my partner does not want to ride all day or just wants to take a brake from riding?
No problem. They can ride in the comfort of the passenger van we use as the support vehicle. The van follows the tour and stops everywhere the tour does. Many of our guests ride two up and a passenger can take a break from riding anytime.
What meals are included in the tour?
Breakfast is always included, and so are most dinners. Since folks often head off in different directions, lunch is on your own. On the free/option days dinner is on your own. All the included meals are open menu—you order whatever you want. On some tours we have a catered BBQ meal (the real deal Texas style)
What are the accommodations like? Will I have a roommate?
We work hard to provide high quality, unique lodging with a local flare. We consider comfort, quiet, privacy, security and “feel” when selecting our lodging. We price our tours for single occupancy and offer a double occupancy option for couples or riding buddies who want to save by bunking together. That way everyone who values their privacy will have it. We think you will be pleased and if, for any reason you are not, we will try to make it right.
How many and what kind of riders will I be touring with?
The tour size will vary between 6 and 15 people. Couples make up a good portion of our riders and many women ride their own bikes. The bikes cover wide range from Gold Wings to Sport bikes. Our only stipulation is that we do not allow motorcycles with excessively loud pipes.
What if my buddies and I want to take a private tour?
No problem. We can set up a custom tour designed just for your group. Or, your group or club can reserve one of our tours. Either way you can expect to enjoy the same great quality and service available in our regular tours.
Contact us and we will design you an unforgettable motorcycle experience.
Can non-riding guests join the tour?
Absolutely, non-riders may join the group by riding in the support vehicle on a space available basis. We can also assist in planning should a guest wish to join the tour for a portion of the trip.
When should I make my reservation?
As soon a possible. We reserve rooms well in advance to secure the most desirable lodging. As soon as we reach our minimum of eight riders you are assured a spot should the tour sell out of the fifteen spots available. Once we reach the minimum, the ride is certain to run and you don’t have to worry about cancellation because the ride did not fill up. Why hesitate? Book your spot now.
