The Big Bend of Texas is perfectly suited for the BMW GS—great pavement and miles of unpaved back roads

It is hard to know where to start when trying to describe this tour—there is so much riding. First, it’s the southern most reach of the Rockies in the U.S. and there are excellent desert mountain routes that sweep past incredible desert vistas. The unpaved back roads seem almost limitless—the national park is 300k acres with a network of roads traversing the desert lowlands and following the Rio Grande. The Terlingua Ranch is 60k acres and is covered with unpaved roads. Then there are miles of state roads, both paved and dirt, waiting to be explored. You could ride out there for weeks and never have to see the same thing twice.

The West Texas ambiance has to be experienced to be understood: Folks out there can be a little off beat and that makes for some interesting places to eat, play and sleep. There are boutique hotels and great local restaurants in Terlingua, Fort Davis, Marathon, and Alpine. This is a true desert adventure. We ride the good roads and show you all of the best places.

Our chase van and covered trailer are equipped to handle most roadside problems and carry your luggage. Your guide carries satellite phone and gps in case of emergency. We promise to do all we can to keep you comfortable, and on the road.

We always offer you the freedom to explore on your own and still meet up with the group for meals and lodging.
